“Our Veterans, Our Heroes”

Concert Series, Merchandise, And Foundation Launch
dogtags_lg.jpgThe Our Veterans, Our Heroes project was founded to directly address the challenges and needs of our military personnel and their families, from the devastation of health care issues to the heartbreak of home foreclosures. Through the efforts of three business executives—Ken Fry, George Nauful, and Lisa Knorr—among those of many other supporters, Our Veterans, Our Heroes offers everyday Americans the opportunity to make a difference in the daily lives of veterans by attending entertainment events, purchasing custom jewelry and merchandise, and donating to the Our Veterans, Our Heroes Foundation.

Founder and CEO Ken Fry speaks about the motivation for the project: “Our men and women in uniform have fought and continue to fight for what we all believe in—our country and our freedom. It is by caring for them when they return home that we honor them for their remarkable service.”

Our Veterans, Our Heroes is taking three significant steps to raise national awareness of veterans’ needs and to positively impact the quality of their lives. First is the design of a Dog Tag as a universal non-partisan symbol of their struggles and commitment. The Dog Tag represents an enrolled American public in the common purpose of veterans’ assistance and a renewed sense of patriotism. The Tags are engraved with “Our Veterans” on one tag and “Our Heroes” on the other. Custom tags are also available with the name of a particular soldier. The dog tag design is also incorporated into other items such as lapel pins, bracelets, baseball caps, T-shirts, license plates, car magnets, and bumper stickers. This merchandise is available through www.ourveteransourheroes.com as well as other retail outlets.

Our Veterans, Our Heroes has also announced a concert series. Three events are currently planned in 2009: “This Is Our Country,” a country music show scheduled for February in Nashville; “Stand Up For Veterans,” an evening of comedy slated for May at a military installation; and “I-Rock,” a 3-day rock music event scheduled for July in the Pacific Northwest. The talent for each show will include a mix of “marquee” entertainment industry artists as well as up & coming artists. These awareness-driven events will be distributed to television, radio, and the Internet. They will also be recorded for CD/DVD packaged releases.

Finally, the Our Veterans, Our Heroes Foundation will raise and distribute funds to address the individual needs of America’s veterans and their families on a case-by-case basis and provide timely solutions to the many challenges they may face.

A significant portion of monies raised by the concert events and merchandise will be donated to the Our Veterans, Our Heroes Foundation to distribute to organizations that directly address the needs of individual
veterans and their families.
